2018 was yet another successful and rewarding year for the Murphy family, supporting a range of charities.
The Murphy Family Foundation was established in 2015 to allow the Murphy family to make meaningful contributions to those less fortunate.
Since its inception, the Murphy Family Foundation has donated over $1.5 million to various charities.
While the Foundation supports a number of charities and programs, the Murphy family is especially interested in supporting organisations where their funding can have a catalytic impact, such as leading to major government funding. The family also considers providing multi-year funding as well as funding for research, infrastructure, and capital expenditure.
The Murphy Family Foundation makes grant decisions on projects that:
- Address a specific need
- Can demonstrate impact
- Are established and have a proven track record
- Have lower administrative costs
- Do not promote a particular faith or religion
The endeavours undertaken always resonate personally with individual family members, and the Murphy Family hopes to grow through their philanthropy so that their giving will continue in perpetuity by future generations.
The Murphy family tend to go above and beyond donating funds when possible, including Rory Murphy participating once again in the annual Vinnies CEO Sleepout. It is the commitment and dedication from the family that sees charities benefiting from the foundation’s contributions for many years.
The family intends 2019 to be another generous year for the Murphy Family Foundation and look forward to working with many organisations.
